CareerCert Individual User Account Migration FAQs

1. How will the transition to EMS1 Academy work?

You will receive an email with your scheduled migration date to EMS1 Academy (EMS1A).

2. What do users need to do to prepare for the switch?

Visit the login page:

EMS1 Academy: https://www.ems1academy.com  

Your email address from CareerCert will be your username. You will need to create a new password for security.

3. Will my login credentials stay the same?

Username: Your CareerCert login email

Password: Must be reset upon first login

4. How do I reset my password?

Go to the EMS1 Academy Login Page (https://www.ems1academy.com)

Click on "Login" in the top right corner

Click "Forgot My Password" and follow the instructions

5. What should I do before the migration?

Complete any in-progress courses on CareerCert before your migration date. Course progress and incomplete courses will not transfer to EMS1 Academy.

6. Will my license information migrate to EMS1 Academy?

Yes, your current license(s) will be migrated. However, you must update your profile with your license(s) to be enrolled in the appropriate Credential Assignments.

7. What if I don’t have a current license on file?

You won’t be enrolled in Credential Assignments, which may limit your ability to track progress for recertification hours.

8. Will my course completions migrate to EMS1 Academy?

Yes, all completion data from your current recertification cycle will be migrated to EMS1 Academy.

9. What about my completion certificates?

Certificates from your current recertification cycle will be available in EMS1 Academy.

For older certificates:

Download them before migration for safekeeping

Lexipol Support can assist with access, but delays may occur

10. Can I track my certification progress on EMS1 Academy?

Yes, EMS1A includes tools to track your Credential Assignment progress and choose courses that meet National Registry and state requirements.

11. Will I still have access to CareerCert after migration?  

No. Once migrated, your access to CareerCert will end. All necessary tools and data for recertification will be available in EMS1 Academy.

12. What are the system requirements for using EMS1 Academy?

13. Will CareerCert courses be available on EMS1 Academy?

No. CareerCert courses will not transfer. However, Lexipol courses in EMS1 Academy meet or exceed standards set by EMS accrediting bodies.

14. Can I renew my National Registry license through EMS1 Academy?

Yes. EMS1A courses count toward standard recertification and the National Continued Competency Program (NCCP).

15. Are CAPCE-approved courses accepted in all states?  

CAPCE courses are accepted in all states except Virginia, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. EMS1 Academy has separate course approvals for those states.  

16. Does EMS1 Academy report course completions to accrediting bodies?

Yes, provided your license number is entered correctly in your EMS1 Academy profile, the platform reports completions to:
